Good To Great Idea

A Great Idea For a Blogging Web Site is No Longer
Enough

· Blogging,writing,startups,Ideas,Content

Because there are so many blogs and web sites about
blogs on the internet, it can be tough to distinguish your
blogging web site from all of the others. Whether you
are starting up a new web site aimed at bloggers or
whether you are looking to make your existing blogging
site more distinctive, the key to building and
maintaining a site that will capture the interest and
attention of the blogging community is finding your
niche. If you can fill a unique need in a way that no
other web site does, you’ll be able to build a lasting
readership among web surfers. Once you have
discovered a niche, you will still have a lot to do, but
finding your place in the blogosphere is the place to
begin.

Every great blogging web site starts with a great idea,
and you can’t build a successful site that will last
without one. There are many great sites aimed at
today’s bloggers, and competition for the attention of
this growing demographic is fierce. To make your
blogging web site stand out from the pack, you will
need to offer something that no other site is currently
offering, or you will need to do the same thing that an
already popular site does but in a more impressive or
valuable way.

One way to discover an ideal model for your blogging
web site is to look at the sites that have successfully
captured a blogging audience already to determine if
you can appropriate some of their strategies to help
realize your vision. Of course, you will also need to add
a unique flair to your project in order to stand apart
from your competition. Many people agree that the web
sites that do the best in today’s market are the sites that
have the most personality. The fiercely individual
surfers who are bloggers are a demographic that
responds especially strongly to personality, so consider
how you can give your site a unique and attractive
feeling by lending your own voice and sensibility to
your site’s design and content.

Once you have a great idea for your site, have
pinpointed a special niche that you are well equipped to
fill, and have infused the site with personality, the next
step is figuring out how to get the word out to bloggers.
In the long run, a great idea just isn’t enough to propel
your blogging web site to success. You will need to
draft a smart and realistic marketing plan in order to
draw readers to your site. Once you hook a blogger,
your great content will keep them coming back, but it is
vital to get that first glance or your site won’t have a
chance to shine.

If you want to make your blog stand out from the others, here are 3 different things you can do.

  1. Publish Epic Content
Probably the most obvious way to stand out is through your content. If you become known as one of the best sources of information in your niche people will remember your blog.
Epic blog content can help you in a number of different ways, including attracting links, attracting subscribers, encouraging social media sharing, providing evergreen content that can serve your blog for a long time, and establishing your reputation as an expert or authority.
There are a lot of blogs that publish quality content, but far fewer that take it to the extreme by publishing epic content.Creating truly epic content takes time and effort, but the results can be well worth it. Rather than publishing a high quantity of posts, use your time to focus on creating an epic post that can be used to set your blog apart.
Keep in mind that epic content is much more than just a long post. Don’t focus on word counts. Instead, work to create something that will be incredibly useful and detailed for your readers. A lot of epic posts tend to be very long because of the detail that is involved, but the length is not the primary reason that it works.
  2. Quality Images and Graphics
Blogging and social media have become increasingly visual in recent years. Social media sites like Pinterest and Instagram are obviously highly visual in nature, but FacebookTwitter, and Google+ have all become more visual as well. Images and graphics are extremely important in today’s social media environment.
Using appealing images with your blog posts will not only make them more pleasant for visitors, but they’ll also lead to more sharing at social networks, and your content will stand out more once it has been shared.
The good news is that you don’t have to be a professional designer or have expensive software in order to succeed with the images that are used on your blog. Online photo editors like PicMonkey and Pixlr make it easy to create quality images for use on your blog.
  3. Take Advantage of Your Strengths and Experiences
While there may be a lot of other blogs that cover similar topics as your blog, each blogger will have their own unique strengths and experiences. Take advantage of your own strengths and your experiences to help make your blog stand out.
Think about yourself and what unique experiences and strengths you have that others do not. Don’t publish all the same types of content and be just like every other blog in your niche.
Being unique in a crowded niche is not easy, but some bloggers manage to do it very well. Noah Kagan of OkDork has some incredible experience that not many other bloggers in the internet marketing and businesses niches can match. He has built successful businesses like AppSumo, and was an early employee at Facebook and Mint.
Noah’s background gives him a lot of credibility and he is a wealth of knowledge. If you want to learn more about Noah check out this podcast from Lewis Howes — Noah Kagan: Genius Marketer On Why He Got Fired by Facebook and Made Millions Anyways.

These days, blogs are everywhere; the content marketing trend is on the rise, and competition has become red hot. So, what are you doing to make your blog better than the rest?

Your blog should be your medium through which you build brand awareness, authority, credibility, and trust. It should drive traffic, leads, and sales. If it’s not doing that for you yet, it’s time to get strategic and competitive.

Outshine your competitors by simply being better than they are. Use these content tactics to achieve that.
